P A M A N A : a Legacy of Filipino Cuisine

February 14, 2015 - Tagaytay

My family celebrated Valentine's day  together in Tagaytay and dine in at Pamana Restaurant; one of the best Filipino restaurant in town.

"Pamana" or Inheritance, live for its name. Situated beside the Boutique Hotel, near the Tagaytay Rotunda, Pamana is the best known for its homemade Pinoy dishes using the best-kept secret recipes of the Ongpauco family that has been handed over from generation to generation.

Pamana has this modern facade but once you get inside the restaurant, you have this homey feeling; because of its very beautiful and charming interior and cozy ambiance. It is really the place to go if you want to enjoy good food, the cool climate of Tagaytay; with a great view of Taal Lake and the comforting feeling of being right at your grandparent's ancestral house in the province.

The three-storey restaurant is also polished off with charming touches of wrought-iron chandeliers, ceramic jars, wooden trunks and sofas that are accented with small throw pillows. It had antique pieces and old momentos from yesteryears, like framed portraitas and some memorable pieces of the years that passed. Going up to Pamana's second floor is also an experience in itself, as the wall is adorned with photographs of different people.
They have the ambiance of a rustic homes because of the heavy dark wood chairs and the big dining tables decked with crocheted table runners.
The dining experience will never be complete without tasting their food. So here are some of the food we ordered.
Davao's Baked Sugpo sa Taba ng Talangka | Php 400.00
Leyte's Humba | Php 310.00

Chicken Binakol | Php 300.00
My Adobo Rice | Php 175.00
